[edit]Article Licensing
[edit]Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
Hello,
As you started the List of all-female bands I would like your input on the rewording of that pages specific notability guidelines. Currently there is a discussion on this as a few users and several mods feel that as long as any all female band has a Wikipedia page than that makes them notable enough to be on the list. In fact the current consensus is that beyond being an all female band with their own Wikipedia page any other criteria, Wikipedia guideline, or Wikipedia policy is irrelevant for being on the list. I feel a huge part of this is due to the articles specific notability guidelines being a bit vague. Your input on this matter is appreciated.
Proposed update
[edit]This is a list that contains a sampling of all-female bands as described in the English Wikepeida All-female band article.
Definitions and Criteria
[edit]In order for a band to be listed they must meet the following criteria:
First and foremost must meet the definition of an all female band.
- All - (pronoun, singular or plural in construction) the whole number, quantity, or amount : totality [1]
- Female - (adjective) composed of members of the female sex [2]
- Band - (noun) a group of persons, animals, or things especially a group of musicians1 organized for ensemble2 playing [3]
- 1.For this article "group of musicians" is defined as musicians who play instruments
- 2.For this article "ensemble" is defined as a group of at least 3 musicians who collectively play drums, guitars and bass.
- 1.For this article "group of musicians" is defined as musicians who play instruments
Secondly they must meet the Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists criteria of Each entry on a list should have its own non-redirect article in English Wikipedia
Finally they must meet the Wikipedia Notability Guidelines for music. Specifically the Criteria for musicians and ensembles guideline.
misc notes
[edit]- Any genre of music is accepted
- Bands must have formed, recorded and performed as an all female band. Male session players, guest musicians, and fill in musicians are allowed.
- Tribute bands and cover bands are not allowed

==Proposed deletion of Moral Lepers
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Moral Lepers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ==

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group
[edit]Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.
I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!
Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 03:06, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Heidimo! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 10 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the article:

Advice & help with Core Synchronism page
[edit]I am looking for help with a wikipedia entry that I helped construct which was all but deleted by skeptics. Care was taken to ensure that all views& assertions were described as views/models (and these claims were footnoted and referenced), making no claim to any ultimate reality or not. Nonetheless it was marked as therapeutic touch and thus pseudoscience--a view which seems very slanted. What is the best way to proceed? Since you listed yourself on the Alternative Medicine Project page, I am reaching out. I am assuming this type of thing has happened before and there's a preferred way to proceed. Can you please take a look at the Core Synchronism page and history and let me know what you think would make the article stronger and less biased. Thanks for your time! It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:36, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
The page Blue Rose (band) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appeared to be about a band or musician that did not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
